One of the most prolific of Jozi based activists, the awe inspiring ‘schizophrenic’ art practitioner Richard Roodt drops his latest project, The Orange Book Vol. 2. Better known as Quaz, This “Chocolate Brown Guy” produces an amount of work that is alarming from quantity, quality and diversity point of views.

self-published
Roodt the scholar shows his head in journals and seminars, spitting knowledge with precision that only comes from the depths of sincerity. It is rare to come across work that is simple and intricate yet deep and intimate. Meaning is not hidden behind fancy words in The Orange Book Vol.2. Quaz delivers a thought provoking, innovative and evocative use of language in this collection. Skillful timing and seasoned choice of vocabulary makes Quaz’s writing a journey through his surround and by extension yours, wherever you are.
Fluid and eloquent in language, Potchefstroom born Richard facilitates children’s theatre, music and poetry workshops in and around the inner city of Jozi, notably at the Keleketla Community Resource centre. Quaz offers the alternative to skepticism, he is one of the most critical, yet also there involved in the solution, evident in the poem (In)Humanity (true story) and many others.
The Orange Book Vol.2 is available for sale at Keleketla!
